About Wool WI

Wool WI, which was formed in 1934, meets on the 2nd Monday of the month at 'The Kids of Wool' building on Colliers Lane, Wool, BH20 6DJ .  From October - March we meet in the afternoon 2.00 pm - 4.00 pm and from April - September we meet in the evening 7.00 pm to 9.00 pm.

We are an active, social WI with ‘spin off’ groups such as a Rambling Group which takes us round a lot of the Dorset countryside, during the warmer months friends and families are invited to join a Friends and Family ramble which usually end up with lunch or supper at a local pub. A Bookgroup, Knit and Natter, Lunch and Supper Clubs and Sewing Bee are all run by members of the WI. We are very welcoming of new groups being formed, with the opportunities to develop new skills.

We have two skittles teams which are great fun over the winter months and we also have kurling teams which, with no ice, is different. We have recently taken part, along with West Lulworth WI, in walking netball.

We have social events throughout the year, ranging from Fish and Chip suppers at Weymouth to Quiz Nights, Coffee Mornings to Whist Drives and Autumn Suppers to Days Out to interesting places.

Wareham and Watercombe Group consists of seven WI's (of which Wool WI is one) that meet twice a year, we have an interesting speaker and a fun competition. Its lovely to meet other WI's in our area and find out what they have been up to.

Dorset regional events are organised by the Dorset Federation of WI's, and details of them can be found in the monthly newsletter which all members receive.

Come and join us, you would be most welcome.
